This is what my legs looked like after a 20hr eco-adventure tour to Matacanes. 20 teachers from my school embarked on this adventure of repelling down waterfalls, waterfall and cliff jumping, cave jumping and endless hiking in wetsuits and harnesses. It was an incredible experience that I don't think I'll be doing ever again. Three weeks after the event I developed a HORRIBLE poison ivy like rash from a plant only found in Matacanes all over my ankles and knees. Three doctors and three weeks later it started to clear up. It was the never ending Matacanes trip.

These are pictures of downtown Monterrey.

This Mariachi band played at the new teachers PTA picnic. They were amazing!

My first tequilla shot in Mexico!!!!
This was my first professional Mexican baseball game. There was a huge fight between the teams, the stadium blacked out for a good 15 minutes and everyone in the stands rushes the field when the game is over. Quite the experience.

My new street.

The following pictures are of my solo drive down to Mexico. I gave myself 8 days to drive so I had time to sightsee a bit, have an unexpected detour to Hot Springs Arkasas at a bath house, visit a high school friend in Dallas and see some friends that I taught with in Shanghai who were in Austin. I had a blast! I was almost sad to have to end my journey and meet up with all the new teachers in McAllen, TX. But now the Mexican adventure begins.

Of course I got a red light at customs and had to have my car searched. Everyone else got green lights....

Getting ready to caravan across the border.

This is my windsheild after I drove through at least 10 miles of migrating butterflies. It was so gross watching these beautiful butterflies smash into my car.

This was my AWESOME suite I got in San Antonio.
